This is going to be along one... yeah... but i want to give feedback, it's not pure hate.

This was real bait, playing this, first for thinking you were coming with a new spin on the roulette games, but then i saw this was just another backrooms game. Really, i remember t he 5 minutes when the backrooms were something interesting, before it became the biggest source for the most lazy slender-like games. Because really all you'd have to do is not make a lazy game...
And i'm not trying to make it sound like no work was put into this, i see the people that were necessary to make this. But the effort was put on an empty shell.

You remove the roulette aspect in favor of a meme, and when you get to that meme there isn't any substance. It would've been fine if after every level you get another shot at t he roulette, but actually trying to play roullete, not just another certain blast to the face. And when you are in there, there's no sort of guide or anything to guide you to the objective. I'm not asking for an arrow, maybe blood splatters, broken furniture, whatever that tells me i'm figuring shit out. "But that would defeat the point of the backroom aesthetic" well didn't i say The backrooms are boringfor games? The A.I. for the only enemy is bad, also. The first level is managable, small, so you run into him a lot. But by the third level i just left the game open after minutes of walking and he never showed up. Actually i started writing this and he still hasn't shown up.

Tl; dr: No game design, nothing interesting, i'd have a better time playing "slenderman the 8 pages"
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

Only thing that kind of kills my enjoyment is the red tv filter on top of the game. I get it's an aesthetic you chose but i don't think it adds anything to the game, it takes away, even.
It makes the enemies harder to look at, so besides the ones that look like TBOI enemies and a couple of fruit-jar things i don't know what i'm fighting. Gameplay wise this isnt a problem since i can differentiate them enough to know how they act, but this makes the characters designs less memorable. Maybe the filter would work better with different graphics but this isn't it.
Chef Allison boss seemed like a pushover at first but it got really fun, i'll get her yet!

I'm a sucker for 90's aesthetic games. The music variants are nice too. It breaks the aesthetic but that's optional so it's up to choice.

AtreyuGilbert responds:

the in-game versions are compressed, the original song is how it's supposed to sound, the original composer remade the song in 2020, and the rest of the variants are fan-made remixes that the original composer liked.

i would personally choose to play it with the original uncompressed song if you wanted the 90's aesthetic

Promised and delivered, amazing! The music is so great that i had to double my initial rating 😲

Wow the 1.5 star rating really proves your point
Thanks a ton argxita

I really like this! The aesthetic is simple but serviceable, a containment being could possibly see most stuff like shapes, colors and simple noises.
The gameplay is a really strong part of this and i feel like it has a lot of potential for a longer version with more mechanics and features.

Happy you liked it! Definitely one of my jam games I'll consider working on in future

Okay, so i like the idea of the bubble that makes you bounce, also the art is pretty memorable and charming! A couple of sound effects woulda finished making it feel fun to play, but i guess you were trying to get the old movie vibe.

Putting an enemy on a small platform you HAVE to step on, however, not fun. On that note i think the level design is pretty simple, more so in the last levels, so i think there's a lot to expand on this idea. Hope you do!

Joe-Mega responds:

Thanks for the feedback!

We weren't able to add sound effects as one of the rules of the game jam, but I'm working on a more finished version with SFX and better, more polished gameplay and levels :)

This is so fucking cuuute and smooth and i love the music, pretty relaxed platformer, there's not even a live counter just keep trying from the checkpoints as much as you want.

there's an imposible jump at level 3 :(

sarnyoger responds:

there definitely is not, where are you stuck?

I can't fucking wall jump
Edit: Yeah man, please try to fix the browser version, this is actually pretty fun!

Another issue i discovered the browser ver has when i downloaded it is that the jump height is really low ~n~

JR01Games responds:

If your having issues on Windows, please try downloading the game on itch.

Edit: I'm sorry to hear that, the engine I used is web-based so it plays just like how it would on Flowlab.io site.

If anyone are having these issues that makes it unplayable inside the game, it would help to email admin@flowlab.io with details of the PC. This would help Flowlab be compatible with more devices in the future.

Real charming, had fun!
